To be in academic good standing, first semester students must achieve a minimum semester average of 1.700. Second semester students must achieve a minimum semester average of 1.850. Students in their sophomore year and beyond must achieve a minimum semester average of 2.000.
Failure to maintain academic good standing will result in academic probation, which makes a student ineligible to participate in many university activities. See section 4.5 of the Undergraduate Academic Code at https://facultyhandbook.nd.edu/assets/288727/undergraduate_academic_code_corrected_9.5.2018.docx.pdf
A student will be removed from academic probation if the student earns academic good standing the following semester.
A student on probation for two consecutive semesters, three non-consecutive semesters, or who earns a semester average below 1.000 in any semester, will be subject to dismissal from the University.
If you have concerns or questions about your academic standing, contact your first-year advisor. For information on satisfactory academic progress and how it relates to financial aid, go to https://financialaid.nd.edu/current-students/planning/satisfactory-academic-progress/.
