Mallory Jagodzinski

First Year Academic Advisor
College of Engineering

Dr. Jagodzinski is an academic advisor for first-year students who intend to pursue a major in the College of Engineering. Within the College, she primarily advises students intending to major in chemical and aerospace engineering. Dr. Jagodzinski has worked at the University of Notre Dame since 2018 and was previously Assistant Director of Alumni Relations at Indiana University South Bend. Dr. Jagodzinski holds the rank of Assistant Advising Professor.

As an academic advisor, Dr. Jagodzinski provides academic counseling and guidance for her students. She is keenly interested in issues of inclusivity and equity, data analysis, and assessment of advising. She has assisted in the planning and coordination of Welcome Weekend as well as the review of first-year advisor assessment at the University of Notre Dame. During the school year, she also teaches a section of the Moreau First Year Experience course.

Dr. Jagodzinski received a B.A. in English from Michigan State University and is an alumna of MSU's Honors College. She continued her academic studies at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, where she earned her M.A. in Popular Culture and her Ph.D. in American Culture Studies. She has spent much of her academic life researching popular romance narratives and issues of citizenship and national belonging.
