THEO 13183-1: Theology University Seminar

This course is not currently available. Please visit the Courses section for current offerings.

Instructor: Alexis Torrance

This course introduces students to the discipline of Theology in a small, discussion-focused seminar setting. Progressing through major figures and events of the Old Testament, New Testament, and early Christianity, students will acquire an overview of some of the major sources of the Christian theological tradition and explore how they relate to the big questions of human existence: life, death, God, faith, freedom, suffering, salvation, and so on. In concert with discussion-based classroom interaction, and in keeping with the goals of the University Seminar, writing assignments will be emphasized, both in the form of short commentaries on set texts and longer research papers on broader theological themes.
