HIST 13184-3: US Presidents: FDR to Clinton

This seminar will examine presidents and presidential leadership from Franklin Roosevelt through to Bill Clinton. The various presidential administrations will be analyzed and assessed and an effort made to identify the requirements for and features of successful and effective presidencies. Some significant attention will be paid to the relationship of character to good presidential leadership. A number of presidential biographies and studies will be assigned. Three, five-page papers and one, ten to twelve-page paper will be assigned.
