FTT 13182-1: Historic Fashion in Film

Instructor: Richard E. Donnelly

Fine Arts University Seminar

This course includes the study of historic fashion as seen in feature films set during the Renaissance, the Rococo, and the Regency.  During the semester, the class will explore the changing forms of fashion during these three periods. Based on theories of clothing, including its origins, the image of power, theories of gender distinction, and the creation of a social identity, to mention only a few, students will analyze, through class discussions, written essays, and oral presentations, the film costumes in the period movies.
