A history of art in the world of Ancient Greece will be established through the analysis of a series of artistic and cultural crises. An overall view of cultural and artistic evolution will be constructed through an understanding of these key points of transition and transformation. Among the critical moments to be examined will be the meeting of the Minoans and Mycenaeans, the Greek renaissance in the 8th c BCE, the establishment of the classical architectural orders in the 6th century BCE, the Persian Wars and the creation of the Periclean Acropolis in Athens.
