ANTH 13181-1: Human Impacts and the Environment: Past, Present, and Future

Instructor: Donna Glowacki

It is increasingly apparent that human society is profoundly altering the natural world around us. Not only do we impact the environment, but it in turn affects us. This seminar focuses on the complex web of relationships between humans, resources, and climate from an anthropological perspective. Through academic and popular texts as well as multi-media, we will debate and analyze how environmental change affects the way people live, how we impact our environment, and how decision-making and policies have both intended and unintended outcomes. Most importantly, we will all gain a better understanding of our place in the world around us.
