Your first year at Notre Dame will bring many changes to your life, and adjusting to the pressures of a demanding academic environment and being on your own can be difficult. You may talk to your First Year Advisor at any time about the issues that you are facing as you make the sometimes-difficult transition to college life, and, if needed, the University Counseling Center is here to help.
The UCC maintains a staff of professional counselors to help you deal with the pressures of classes and work; they provide individual and group counseling, 24-hour crisis services, and educational workshops. They even have a variety of self-guided relaxation and performance-enhancing activities that you can try in their Inner Resource Room.
If you would like more information, the UCC will hold an open house on the Friday afternoon of the First Year Orientation weekend, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., or you can call (574) 631-7336.
The University Counseling Center is located on the third floor of Saint Liam Hall. Saint Liam Hall is next to Stanford and Keenan Halls. Their office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours during holiday breaks may vary.
